Wondering what to get you significant other for your wedding? Check out what we did!

Gift giving comes easily for me, especially with those closest to me because I pay attention to when they say things like “I want one of those.” Or “I could really use a…” Especially around Christmas time because who isn’t wanting everything they don’t need around that time of year. So, I knew for a long time what I wanted to get Alex for our wedding. I had picked up on a few things he wanted and knew I could personalize them.

He had been wanting a wooden watch since we were in England, three years ago. I got him one for Christmas one year but it only had a wooden face.

Sidenote: That one ended up breaking, from him dancing too hard at a wedding! LOL. My cousin’s girlfriend had gotten my cousin the same one and I knew he didn’t wear it so I bought that from her and gifted it to Alex, again.

Not sure if you needed to know that, but it is part of the story. Anyway, so I started looking for a wooden watch and I sent them to my cousin (who we bought the other one from) and he helped me choose! We both liked this one from Tree Hut Design.

The cool thing about these is, they are high quality and you can personalize them! I added the Bible verse Corinthians 13:4-8.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

Also, our wedding date (don’t mind the low quality picture, it was harder to take than I thought it would be). I was pleased with how it turned out, minus it’s a tad bit off centered. The meaning behind it is all that matters so I wasn’t too concerned. I almost put “you’re my favorite person.” Because I always say that too him, but I thought the verse had a greater meaning for our wedding day.

Along with his watch I got him some sunglasses from there as well! Until a year ago he didn’t even wear sunglasses, which was crazy to me because I can’t live without mine! The only pair he owned was a pair of free ones he got at the 80/35 musical festival in Des Moines. I also got these from Tree Hut Design. I could have personalized these as well, but I thought the personalization on the watch was probably the right amount of personalized gifts. LOL.

The day of the wedding was so busy I forgot I was even getting a gift from him. I had made multiple suggestions to him on things I wanted because he would always ask me. Funny thing is I knew when he knew what he was getting me because he stopped asking. 😊 So that day when my sister brought it to me wrapped I had no idea what it was, even though it was something I had suggested I wanted. It was a Letterfolk board! I have been crushing on these for a long time because I think they are so cute and I love that you can use it to put fun, changeable sayings on. Check out the cute saying Alex used on our wedding day!

I told him I never want to change that one so I am just going to have to get another one. He didn’t say no.. sooo. 😊 PS, the saying is so us. I love decorating, aka putting holes in the wall, and he hates putting holes in the wall. But he never says no when I ask for his help. LOL. Here are a few more ways I styled it on our mantel.

Thought you guys would enjoy knowing what we got each other! We are getting closer to getting our pictures back from Madelin Mack Photography. CAN’T WAIT!!!
